Episode 50: “Duck!”
As soon as I introduced Waddlebottom, The Lord of All Ducks, I knew this is how Sir Quimp would be leaving town. Our hero’s escape just so happened to line up with episode 50, so poured a few extra days into the production.
The strip is larger than all the previous episodes and it’s the first to totally NOT fit the classic Calvin and Hobbes size format – arrows and swords breaking the borders everywhere. I also added a lot of background characters and the environment is probably way overdone – I think I painted reflected lighting on every NPC. My eyes were going on me by the end. But that’s supposed to happen when you hit 50, right?
If you look closely you’ll see background characters from some of my favorite fantasy and RPG series: Table Titans, Battlepug, Harmonquest, LARPS the Series, and The Wizard and the Metalsmith (I told you, John, I’d sneak your characters in before our hero left town).

Just a thought. 🙂
