Episode 236: “Quite sophisticated…”

I’m happy with how this one turned out. Though, I spent way too much time adding shadows and highlights to metal hoops and buckles – which I eventually hid in the shadows to help increase depth. Sigh. :)

I ran into the upper limit of what the Procreate app could handle more than a few times (“You can’t have more than 106 Layers,” it repeatedly whimpered). I’ll be sure to share a step-by-step for this episode as a public post on Patreon later this week – for the process junkies.

I totally agree with that first rule of magic fights by the way.

Extra thanks to new Patreon supporters Maureen, Tired Old Dog, and Zalotov!

I hope you’re all happy and well and warm!

  1. That first rule was a real downer for my Cleric-Mage back in the day until such time that she had access to just the right spells and equipment.

Picture a petite enchantress dressed in practical travel/adventuring wear – Party gets into the big fight and Magic Resistant Big-Bad and buddies goes straight for her [mage = glass canon] – She pulls the transformation sequence – now she is a Glowy 7ft armour plated holy terror swinging a huge sword.

  2. Up side: non-binary representation!
Down side: the non-binary person is an orc

Not sure if that’s positive on balance 🙂
